The first phase of this new development on Airdrie’s west side started in September, with 1,000,000 m3 of earth to move to shape this community. The relatively flat but rolling land will take shape as the new storm pond is excavated, and the neighbourhood is raised up to its prominent viewpoint overlooking the city and the surroundings.

Wilco’s combination of CAT 627s and 623s along with our K-Tec/Volvo scraper units makes an ideal crew setup to move bulk material but also stay nimble enough to transition between work scopes seamlessly.

This work will progress through the winter with excavation and rock crushing as the pond deepens and will complete grading operations early in 2024. Wilco’s ability to work side by side with our inhouse survey team ensures the movement of dirt is completed in the most logical sequence, and the finished product is graded to precision, ready for streets and surface works.
